Decatur East Phase II

Decatur East Phase II

The Decatur Housing Authority in partnership with Columbia Residential is currently constructing Decatur East Phase II.

Decatur East Phase II is an 80-unit, mixed-income senior housing development located at the Avondale MARTA Transit-Oriented Development. 70 units will be affordable to households at or below 60% of Area Median Income. 24 of those units will be supported by Project-Based Vouchers committed by DHA, many of which are reserved for very low-income households who are most at risk of housing instability and homelessness.

In addition to its ideal location in the City of Decatur directly adjacent to the Avondale MARTA Station, Decatur East Phase II boasts a well-designed community room, an equipped computer center, and a furnished exercise room. Residents will also enjoy the covered porch and have access to on-site laundry. Property management will also host regular events such as holiday dinners, bingo, and exercise classes to engage residents.

The project is financially supported by Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and National Housing Trust Funds awarded by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, HOME financing provided by DeKalb County Community Development, Tax Allocation District funds from the City of Decatur, ARPA funds awarded by the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget, and debt and equity investment by Truist Bank.

Construction on Decatur East Phase II is expected to be completed in summer 2025.
