Section 8 Waiting List
Decatur Housing Authority is NOT taking applications for the Section 8 Waiting list at this time.
Public Housing & Gateway
Starting November 15, 2010 the Decatur Housing Authority will not be accepting applications for Public Housing and Gateway. Due to the volume of applications being received and processed the Authority will stop accepting applications for these properties temporarily.
Once the waiting lists are updated the Authority will again begin accepting applications for these properties. This temporary action will help everyone have more accurate information as to where they are on the waiting lists.
Allen Wilson
Allen Wilson Phase 1 is complete! Phase 1 is 2 20 unit buildings with 1, 2, & 3 Bedroom units. Residents are currently residing in the new buildings.
Oliver House - Phase 2 is currently under construction. When complete it will have 80 units and activity space for programs and services, a new management and maintenance offices.

Our programs are designed to meet the needs of renters, owners, and hopeful owners; welfare recipients, young families, service workers, police and fire personnel, the elderly, and many others.
With these goals in mind, the Authority plans, develops and implements programs that are specifically designed to improve the lives of our families, promote our thriving community and to foster economic development within our city. Additionally the Authority offers programs directly to the residents of its affordable housing rental communities.
Talley Street Lofts

Spring Pointe is an open, landscaped community of 65 apartments in 11 buildings. Additionally there are 2 nearby single family homes and two new three (3) unit triplexes on Olympic Place now for rent that are all part of Spring Pointe. For more details click on more below.

Director Retires
After 38 years of service to the Decatur area at Decatur Housing Authority, Mr. Paul A. Pierce has retired from DHA. We wish him well in his retirement.
