The
Decatur Housing Authority participates in a number of
projects targeting the development of affordable rental and
home ownership opportunities.
Goal
A goal of the Authority is to
expand the availability of affordable housing for Decatur's
workforce. To
accomplish this, the Authority, and its related non-profit,
develops, owns and operates a number of apartments. In most cases, a
percentage of units are reserved for low to moderate income residents
while other units are available at market rate.

The Housing Authority owns the 65-unit Spring Pointe apartment complex
plus two (2) single family homes nearby.
These units provide much needed, quality affordable housing
in Decatur. In addition, Spring Pointe offers many
special activities for its residents, including a National
Night Out Celebration, home buying seminars several times a
year, and a courtesy officer using local police as residents.

Three (3) new attached rental units is currently under
construction.
Each unit will be a 2 bedroom/2 bath, spacious apartment with
current amenities, including dishwasher, air conditioning,
ceiling fans and off-street-parking.
