The Housing Authority of the City of Decatur, Georgia offers many programs and services
to meet the needs of the City of Decatur and to provide for its growth and development
and to assist individuals and families at varying levels of income to afford to live
in quality housing in the City of Decatur
Our programs are designed to meet the needs of renters, owners, and hopeful owners;
welfare recipients, young families, service workers, police and fire personnel, the
elderly, and many others.
With these goals in mind, the Authority plans, develops and implements programs that
are specifically designed to improve the lives of our families, promote our thriving
community and to foster economic development within our city. Additionally the Authority
offers programs directly to the residents of its affordable housing rental communities.
To support the strength and diversity of the Decatur community by providing a wide
range of housing opportunities with a focus on affordable housing, promoting community
and economic development, and administering its program in a creative, cooperative,
responsive, and effective manner.
Current Lobby Hours are Monday - Friday 8am-5pm at the Central Office building located
at Suite 400 (750 Commerce Drive.)
The Housing Authority of the City of Decatur, GA has received a High Performer rating
in our Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS) and our Section Eight Management Assessment
Program (SEMAP) for 2016.
Section 8 Waiting List
Decatur Housing Authority is not taking applications for the Section 8 Waiting list
at this time.
Public Housing & Gateway
Decatur Housing Authority will not be accepting applications for Public Housing and
Gateway properties temporarily.
Decatur Housing Authority is currently not accepting applications for persons over
the age of 62 for our elderly building.
